Our Story
Mai Music Academy was born out of the desire to cultivate a person's self-expression. Our approach to teaching music focuses on the student’s relationship to the music as their guide in their musical journey. It is the key to their best performance.
The school is named in honour of the founder’s late father, Qi Ji Mai, who passed away in February of 2021. He supported her musical journey right from the start. He purchased her first keyboard and from there she never stopped playing.
The founder, Canita Mai, has been teaching music lessons since 2015. Though not initially the focus of her music career, she quickly fell in love with teaching and poured all her attention into it. She wants to help students find their inner songs.
